“Justices subject of ethics filings; Two complaints made in Johnson case”: The St. Paul Pioneer Press today contains an article that begins, “Two attorneys — a Minnesota House member and a crusader against state Supreme Court rules — filed separate ethics complaints Friday against members of the high court and a former chief justice regarding comments Senate Majority Leader Dean Johnson made about them.” The newspaper has posted online copies of the ethics complaints here and here.

“Bernard Siegan, 81, Legal Scholar and Reagan Nominee, Dies”: The New York Times today contains an obituary that begins, “Bernard H. Siegan, a conservative legal scholar whose unsuccessful nomination to a federal appellate judgeship was one of the most bitterly disputed judicial nominations of the Reagan era, died on Monday in Encinitas, Calif. He was 81 and lived in San Diego.”
