“Komisarjevsky Objects To ‘Pure Evil’ Comment; Says He’s ‘Damaged Human Being,’ Not ‘Embodiment Of Evil'”: The Hartford Courant has a news update that begins, “Joshua Komisarjevsky, accused of the 2007 Cheshire home invasion killings, wants to respond to comments made by the lone survivor of the attack, Dr. William Petit Jr.”

“S.C. mourns death of civil-rights ‘giant’; Federal judge, 89, found dead at his Columbia home”: Today’s edition of The State of Columbia, South Carolina contains an obituary that begins, “U.S. District Judge Matthew J. Perry, a towering civil rights figure who used intellect, hard work and courage to end segregation in South Carolina and usher in a more just society, was found dead at his home on Sunday. He would have turned 90 this week.”

And The Associated Press reports that “Civil rights lawyer, federal judge Perry dies.”
