“Federal appeals court: $41M award against Connecticut school might discourage trips abroad.” The Associated Press has a report that begins, “A New York federal appeals court asked the Connecticut Supreme Court on Monday to help it decide the validity of a $41.5 million jury award to the family of a student injured on a trip to China, saying such a stiff penalty might discourage educational trips.”
