“Court halts Calif. gay marriages pending appeal”: The Associated Press has a report that begins, “A federal appeals court put same-sex weddings in California on hold indefinitely Monday while it considers the constitutionality of the state’s gay marriage ban.”

The San Francisco Chronicle has a news update headlined “Appeals court puts same-sex ruling on hold.”

And Howard Mintz of The San Jose Mercury News has an update headlined “Appeals court puts Proposition 8 ruling on hold, sets December hearing.”
