“3 seek to impeach remaining high court justices”: The Des Moines Register today contains an article that begins, “Three Iowa Republican representatives are drafting a bill to launch an impeachment process to oust the four Iowa Supreme Court justices who will continue serving next year. It was unclear Friday how much support the idea has in the Legislature, where hundreds of bills fail to advance each year.”

And Reuters reports that “Iowa lawmakers target judges who struck down gay marriage ban.”

“SCC hearing means Black’s legal battle makes history”: Yesterday’s edition of Financial Post contained an article that begins, “Conrad Black’s protracted legal battle has yielded a first. With a decision by the Supreme Court of Canada Thursday to hear an appeal by a group of former Hollinger International Inc. executives who want half a dozen libel lawsuits filed by Lord Black to be blocked from proceeding in Ontario, the Montreal-born businessman becomes the only person to have legal cases dealt by both high courts in Canada and the United States in a single year.”
