“Texas Urges Supreme Court to Reject Appeal on Obama’s Immigration Program”: Michael D. Shear will have this article in Wednesday’s edition of The New York Times.

The Associated Press reports that “Texas asks US Supreme Court not to review immigration case.”

And at “SCOTUSblog,” Lyle Denniston has a post titled “States want wider immigration review, if Court takes case.”

“We must delineate the scope of the University’s authority to deny a teaching candidate’s student teaching application on the basis of the candidate’s speech.” A unanimous three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit today issued its ruling in the case captioned Oyama v. Univ. of Hawaii.

Today’s ruling goes against the student who asserted that his free speech rights had been violated.

“James McKinney update: Court to rehear appeal for Ariz. death row inmate.” The Associated Press had this report back in March 2014.

Earlier, in September 2013, Cronkite News had an article headlined “Appeals court upholds death sentence in Phoenix-area burglary murders” reporting on the original three-judge Ninth Circuit panel’s ruling in the case.

Today, one year and two weeks after the appeal was reheard before an 11-judge en banc panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the court issued a 6-to-5 decision granting habeas relief in favor of the defendant.
