“Post-Dispatch, other media sue for execution drug disclosure”: The St. Louis Post-Dispatch has a news update that begins, “The Post-Dispatch and several other news agencies are suing the Missouri Department of Corrections to compel it to release information about the drugs the state uses for lethal injection executions.”

And The Associated Press reports that “Media file lawsuit to challenge execution secrecy.”

“Cornelia Groefsema Kennedy: Pioneer was 1st female chief judge of a U.S. District Court.” The Detroit Free Press has published an obituary that begins, “Former U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Cornelia Groefsema Kennedy, a legal pioneer who was the first female judge appointed to the federal court bench in Detroit and the first female chief judge of any U.S. District Court, died Monday at her Grosse Pointe Woods home.”
