“As devout Roman Catholics, they believe that they cannot pay for or participate in a healthcare plan that includes coverage for contraceptives or provide such coverage to their daughters without violating their sincerely held religious beliefs.” Missouri House of Representatives member Paul Wieland today won his appeal in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit from a district court’s dismissal for lack of standing of his and his wife’s lawsuit challenging the Affordable Care Act’s contraceptive mandate.
