“U.S. Senate unanimously approves Wyoming Attorney General Greg Phillips for judgeship”: Today’s edition of The Casper Star-Tribune contains an article that begins, “Wyoming Attorney General Greg Phillips sailed through his U.S. Senate confirmation on a unanimous 88-0 vote Monday to earn a seat on the U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals based in Denver.”

And today’s edition of The Wyoming Tribune-Eagle of Cheyenne contains an article headlined “Wyoming AG confirmed as federal judge; President Obama picked state Attorney General Greg Phillips for a seat on 10th Circuit bench.”

“General Assembly overrides governor’s veto of concealed carry bill”: The Chicago Tribune has a news update that begins, “Illinois today became the last state in the country to legalize the concealed carry of guns after both the House and Senate rejected Gov. Pat Quinn’s attempt to rewrite the compromise bill.”

And The Associated Press reports that “Illinois enacts nation’s final concealed-gun law.”

“Senate confirms Dorsey for federal judge post in Nevada”: The Las Vegas Review-Journal has a news update that begins, “Las Vegas attorney Jennifer Dorsey survived a suggestion of scandal and won confirmation Tuesday to become a federal judge in Nevada. The Senate vote was 54-41.”

You can access the U.S. Senate‘s official roll call vote tally at this link. It appears that only one Republican Senator voted in favor of confirmation.
