Courthouse News Service reports that “Seventh Circuit Explains Why It Upheld Wisconsin Voter ID Law.”

And at his “Election Law Blog,” Rick Hasen has a post titled “7th Circuit Issues Opinions in Earlier 5-5 Split on WI Voter ID Law: Next Stop SCOTUS?

Yesterday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit issued a per curiam decision denying reconsideration. Accompanying that decision was a dissent from the court’s denial of rehearing en banc in which five judges joined.

“Administration urges rejection of Brewer’s appeal”: The Associated Press has a report that begins, “The Obama administration has urged a court to reject Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer’s appeal of a ruling that blocks the state from denying driver’s licenses to young immigrants who have avoided deportation under a change ordered by the president.”

Update: The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit has posted the federal government’s amicus brief filed yesterday at this link.
