A note to readers: I ordinarily opt to reproduce the entire headline or title of newspaper articles and other writings that I link to online. However, BuzzFeed News for whatever reason frequently opts for sub-heads that are inordinately long, which is why lately I have been omitting them. By the end of the second line of the four-line sub-head of this article, the headline notes that the jurist who is expected to be recused is Circuit Judge J. Harvie Wilkinson III.

15 years of “How Appealing” — A tribute to this blog’s amazing readers: On Saturday, May 6, 2017, this blog will celebrate its 15th birthday. This blog would not have lasted one year, let alone 15, without you, this blog’s amazing readers, who make this labor of love worthwhile.
Tomorrow, I intend to publish a post offering my own reflections on the past 15 years of “How Appealing.” But first, and more importantly, I wanted to thank you for making this all possible.
One of the true joys of operating this blog is meeting readers, whether at speaking engagements, appellate events, or even approaching airport security in Philadelphia when someone recognizes my name on a carry-on luggage tag.
To commemorate this blog’s upcoming 15th birthday, I have one request of this blog’s readers. Send me a quick email describing what “How Appealing” means to you, why you read this blog, what you like or dislike about it, or describing a moment in the history of this blog that was memorable for you.
I will begin publishing these emails, one per day, on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. Please state in your email whether I can include your name. As always, I can be reached by email at this blog’s email address, [email protected].
This blog has published numerous reader emails over its 15-year history, but I have neglected to do that as much recently. With your assistance, this is about to change, in recognition of the fact that this blog would not be what it is today without you. And for that, I cannot thank this blog’s readers enough.
