On May 6, 2002 — 16 years ago today — the blog “How Appealing” came into existence: Which means that, in the intervening years, I have written 15 annual posts commemorating this blog’s birthday. One of my favorites thus far was the post I wrote on this blog’s first birthday, on May 6, 2003.

Because this blog has been fortunate to gain so many new readers since then, instead of yammering on at length about how grateful I am to have you among this blog’s readership, I cordially invite everyone to read (or re-read) the heartfelt post that I wrote on the occasion of this blog’s very first birthday.
