Access today’s rulings of the U.S. Supreme Court in argued cases: The Court issued four rulings in argued cases.

1. Justice Sonia Sotomayor delivered the opinion of the Court in Lamar, Archer & Cofrin, LLP v. Appling, No. 16-1215. No separate opinions were issued, but Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel A. Alito, Jr., and Neil M. Gorsuch did not join a portion of the opinion of the Court. You can access the oral argument via this link.

2. Justice Anthony M. Kennedy delivered the opinion of the Court in Hughes v. United States, No. 17-155. Justice Sotomayor issued a concurring opinion. And Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr. issued a dissenting opinion, in which Justices Thomas and Alito joined. You can access the oral argument via this link.

3. Justice Alito delivered the opinion for a unanimous Court in Koons v. United States, No. 17-5716. You can access the oral argument via this link.

4. And Justice Kennedy delivered the opinion of the Court in Masterpiece Cakeshop, Ltd. v. Colorado Civil Rights Comm’n, No. 16-111. Justice Elena Kagan issued a concurring opinion, in which Justice Stephen G. Breyer joined. Justice Gorsuch issued a concurring opinion, in which Justice Alito joined. Justice Thomas issued an opinion concurring in part and concurring in the judgment, in which Justice Gorsuch joined. Access today’s Order List of the U.S. Supreme Court: At this link. The Court did not grant review in any new cases but did call for the views of the Solicitor General in one case.

The Court issued a unanimous per curiam decision vacating for mootness in Azar v. Garza, No. 17-654. The decision discusses, but concludes that it is unnecessary to resolve, the federal government’s contention that opposing counsel engaged in misconduct by obtaining the abortion their client was entitled to obtain under the terms of the injunction then in effect.

And in Trevino v. Davis, No. 17-6883, Justice Sonia Sotomayor issued a dissent, in which Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg joined, from the denial of certiorari.
